The Lift Above Poverty Organisation (LAPO) Group recently hosted its annual Founder’s Award for the Deployment and Adoption (FADA) during its 2024 White Christmas Carol and end of the year party at the Zone Event Centre in Lagos.

FADA was initiated to recognize organizations within the LAPO ecosystem that have demonstrated exceptional adoption of the core values upheld by the company, resulting in a significant impact on customers and stakeholders.

At the awards presentation, the Director of Marketing and Corporate Communications at LAPO Microfinance Bank, Oluremi Akande, hinted that the winners from various subsidiaries of the LAPO ecosystem were honoured with golden plaques in recognition of their outstanding achievements.

Akande explained that the FADA winners were selected through a qualitative appraisal and critical analysis based on “observing institutions’ activities in line with the core values and engaging with the various brand ambassadors to gather feedback.”

The awards ceremony celebrated employees who demonstrated an unwavering commitment to excellence, surpassing the LAPO Group’s values and performance standards for the year.

The winners were recognized for their dedication to the organization’s ethos, which includes People First, Integrity, Passion and Commitment, Enterprise and Teamwork, Commitment to Social Responsibility and Sustainability, as well as Fun, Excitement and Excellence.

Speaking, Founder of LAPO Group, Dr. Godwin Ehigiamusoe, said: “As we celebrate the achievements of this year’s awardees, we are reminded that the true strength of our organization lies in the collective efforts of our team members. Their unwavering commitment to our mission ensures that LAPO continues to lead with integrity, innovation, and purpose.”

The seven award categories reflected the core values that have defined the LAPO Group’s success throughout the year. The FADA Awards underscored the importance of collaboration, integrity, and social responsibility in driving exceptional outcomes within the organization and across its subsidiaries.

Meanwhile, the LAPO Group ushered in the holiday season with its spectacular White Christmas Carol and End of the Year Party on December 17, 2024, at The Zone in Lagos. The event brought together LAPO members, partners, clients, and guests, including representatives from various sectors such as oil, gas, telecoms, and investment banking.

The evening featured a dazzling display of fireworks, Christmas carols, and an elegant white carpet where guests posed for photos at a beautifully decorated Santa’s Grotto.

Hosted by the sensational comedian and corporate compere, MC Forever, the celebration was filled with festive performances, including carol renditions, Bible readings and word of admonition by award-winning poet, Kemistree.

LAPO Mass Choir, Dorcas Thorpe (Head of Corporate Planning, LAPO Microfinance Bank) and the Qadowsh Band delivered powerful musical performances, enhancing the night magic.

Dressed in white, those who attended the evening event were treated to a lively atmosphere with a buffet of seasonal dishes, vibrant music by DJ Soul, and the FADA Awards, which recognized outstanding contributions from LAPO members and partners throughout the year.

Ehigiamusoe further commended partners, clients and team members for their support, noting that the event was not just a celebration of the season but also a reflection of the organization’s successes.

A highlight of the evening was the Christmas Carol performance by the renowned LAPO Choir, whose renditions of traditional carols and modern interpretations resonated throughout the ballroom.

He said: “We’re grateful for the tremendous support from our partners, clients, and team members over the course of the year. The White Christmas Carol & End of the Year Party is our way of celebrating not just the holiday season but also the incredible milestones we’ve achieved together. It’s a chance for us to reflect on all that we’ve accomplished and look forward to an even brighter future.”

Not to be outdone, the End of the Year Party had something for everyone-from a festive buffet featuring delicious seasonal dishes to a lively dance floor where guests enjoyed the upbeat music and rhythmic beats of DJ Soul.

The evening also featured the FADA Awards, where outstanding members and partners of LAPO were recognized for their contributions throughout the year, making the night even more meaningful.

The White Christmas Carol and End of the Year Party showcased LAPO’s commitment to fostering unity, celebrating achievements, and spreading joy through music, community and giving.
