The Yobe State Police Command has confirmed the killing of three robbery suspects by youths during an attack at the Ngalda Market, located in the Fika Local Government Area of the state.
Confirming the death of the three robbery suspects, the command’s spokesperson, Dungus Abdulkarim, disclosed that the incident happened on Monday.
Abdulkarim said a locally made pistol, along with three cartridges were recovered from the dead robbery suspects, while three other members of the robbery gang escaped with injuries.
However, he said robbery attack resulted in the death of seven persons, while 11 others were injured.

“On January 20, 2025, at approximately 2100hrs, a group of six armed robbers attacked three shops at Ngalda Market. The incident resulted in seven fatalities and 11 injuries. The robbers made off with approximately N16. 5million” Abdulkarim said.
The injured victims, along with the deceased were transported to the General Hospital in Fika for medical treatment and autopsy.
Responding to the robbery incident, the state Commissioner of Police, Garba Ahmed, has ordered an immediate investigation into the attack and urged the community to remain calm.
“He tasked police personnel to arrest the fleeing syndicate members and urged the public to assist the command with credible information,” the spokesman said.
