A political group, Abraham Honourable Political Movement took to the street on Sunday on a sensitisation rally to educate the people of Abak/Ika/Etim Ekpo Federal Constituency on the importance of taking part in the continuous voters registration.
The rally tagged: “One million man march” took off from the Ika Local Government Council secretariat , went through major streets and terminated at the Etim Ekpo Local Government Secretariat Roundabout.
Addressing the gathering, the Leader of the group Abel Abraham stated the benefits of registering and collecting the permanent voters card, stressing that it serves as a tool for good governance.
He also noted that the group discovered that most people in the grassroot do not know the importance of the voters card, even when they are enthusiastic about canvassing for their candidates.
“All what we are doing here is educate our people and let them know how important it is to own a PVC.
“That the PVC is a very powerful tool that you can use to decide who leads you and also promote good governance and accountability”.
“We just discovered that most people in the grassroot do not know how important the PVC is.
“They believe that they can canvass for their candidates just by being vocal, but the essence of the canvassing will be in futility without the PVC,” Abraham said.
