The Yobe State Security Council has begun strategising and implementing measures for a peaceful and incident-free Eid-el-Fitr celebration across the state.
This wasdisclosed at a meeting chaired by the state Deputy Governor, Idi Gubana.
At the meeting, the deputy governor emphasised the need for proactive security steps to maintain peace and order during the festive period.
Gubana praised security agencies in the state for their commitments to safeguarding lives and property, while also commending traditional rulers and community leaders for their role in fostering unity and resolving conflicts.

Speaking at a joint press briefing, the acting Commissioner of Police, Abubakar Osun, highlighted the council’s efforts to bolster the state’s security framework.
He urged parents and guardians to closely monitor their children’s activities, and to caution them against reckless behaviour, particularly unsafe driving.
Also, the Special Adviser on Security Matters to Governor Mai Buni, Brig. Gen. Dahiru Abdulsalam (rtd.), dismissed claims that Boko Haram had issued evacuation notices to communities in the Gujba area.
He reassured residents of the state government’s unwavering commitment to their safety.
The Yobe State government and security agencies reaffirmed their dedication to ensuring a secure and joyous Eid-el-Fitr celebration for all citizens.
