The Chairman of Wukari Local Government Area of Taraba State, Bala Useni, has commenced the grading of an access road at Ando Azara, a community located beside the Federal Government College, Wukari, as part of efforts to improve road infrastructure and accessibility within the town.
A visit to the project site by our correspondent showed ongoing grading work aimed at opening up the area and providing a functional access route that will connect Ando Azara to other parts of Wukari.
The project is expected to ease movement for residents, motorists, as well as students and staff of the Federal Government College, Wukari.
It is also anticipated to enhance security and boost commercial activities in the area.
Residents of Ando Azara and neighboring communities have welcomed the development with enthusiasm, describing it as a long-awaited intervention.
Many noted that the lack of a motorable road had caused significant hardship over the years, particularly during the rainy season.
They expressed optimism that the grading work would bring lasting relief to transportation challenges in the area.
Some residents, who spoke with our correspondent, commended the council boss for what they described as a people-centered initiative.

They praised his commitment to grassroots development, noting that the road project would not only improve access but also increase property values and stimulate further development in the community.
Meanwhile, further findings revealed that the Ando Azara Road project marks the first phase of a wider infrastructural development plan by the Wukari Local Government administration.
Additional road grading, rehabilitation, and construction projects are reportedly underway across the local government area as part of efforts to improve infrastructure, promote economic growth, and enhance the standard of living of residents.
Residents have called on the local government to sustain the momentum and ensure the timely completion of the project, while pledging their cooperation to support its successful execution.
