Women from some parts of Ondo State have taken to the streets to protest against the state of insecurity in their area.
The peaceful protests held today were staged in Oka Akoko, Akungba Akoko and some other towns in Akoko.
It was gathered by THE TRUMPET that the series of protest were triggered due to the recent kidnap of some teachers by bandits in Auga Akoko, the attack on 17 travellers on Ifira Akoko-Isua Akoko road and the killing of a police officer by unknown gunmen at Oka Akoko last week and others.
Some of the half-naked protesters were seen holding brooms while chanting various solidarity songs along the streets.
Some of the protesters who spoke with newsmen in anonymity called on the security agents and the state government to come to the rescue from the attacks of these bandits.
