The Trumpet learnt that the butchered mother was on night runs as a prostitute and was brought to the building by the suspected client moved in three days.

The victim was said to have escaped death due to the timely intervention of neighbors who were said to have heard the strange noise of the victim at midnight and approached the man but claimed it was merely a little fight between them.

They said they were able to rescue the lady as a result of the noise that kept coming from the apartment and when they forcibly entered the apartment after the man had fled, the lady was met in a pool of blood with various degrees of matchet cuts on her face, shoulders, and hands.

It was also learnt that the neighbours called the landlord and police who took the victim to the Police Clinic for treatment, but was rejected and later referred to the University of Medical Sciences, Teaching Hospital, Akure.

The victim Mrs Osundare was said to have just returned from Ado Ekiti where she went to visit her sick mother and had informed her sister of her arrival.

Her elder sister, Mrs Kayode Tobi affirmed that her sisters truly went to Ado to check on their sick mother, adding that she later called that she had arrived in Akure at about 8 pm, but was confused hearing she was hacked in a man’s house.

However, the landlord of the house where the crime was committed, who is also a football coach, anonymously said he received a call from a tenant that someone was killed in his house, saying he went to the police station immediately before going to the house.

“On getting to the house with the police, we saw the door locked and after opening it, we met the girl on the floor in the pool of her blood. My neighbour called Amotekun and we rushed her to the hospital,” said the landlord.

The landlord claimed he doesn’t know the fleeing tenant, noting that the suspect packed into the house without his approval.

More so, the 12 years old son of the victim, Pelumi Obaje said her mother told him she works in a hotel but could not ascertain the nature of her work.

Confirming the incident, the Commander of Amotekun Corps, Akogun Adetunji Adeleye said his men took the victim to the hospital and paid the hospital bill to ensure that she was saved.

The Ondo State Police Command said it has started investigation into the act.

Speaking, the Public Relations Officer, Mrs Funmilayo Odunlami, revealed that the suspect took the victim to his friend’s house where he allegedly committed the evil act.

Odunlami said the owner of the apartment reported the matter to the police, saying the suspect took the woman to the apartment to spend the night with her.

Also confirming the incident, the Executive Secretary of the Ondo State Agency against Sexual and Gender-Based Violence, Mrs. Bola Joel-Ogundadegbe, said the victim was on oxygen between Wednesday and Thursday at the trauma center in Ondo but has not regained consciousness and strength to talk.
