Boluwatife Balogun, the teenage son of Nigerian Afrobeats star Wizkid, has stirred widespread reactions on social media after revealing his Arabic name and confirming his Muslim identity during an online discussion about the ongoing fasting period.
The 14 year old, who recently stepped into the music scene, drew attention after sharing a message reflecting on the significance of Ramadan. His post quickly circulated across social media, with many followers responding to his remarks about the spiritual season.
Boluwatife, who released his debut extended play project in November 2025, wrote that this year’s Ramadan has been especially meaningful to him. In the message, he expressed gratitude for what he described as positive changes in his life during the sacred period.
“This holy month really feels different. Just watching things fall into place, and all I can say is Alhamdulillah,” he wrote in the post.
His comment sparked curiosity among fans, particularly after a user on the social media platform X asked him to reveal his Arabic or Muslim name.

Responding to the question, Boluwatife simply stated that his Arabic name is Abdul Rahman. The disclosure surprised several followers who had not previously known about his connection to Islam.
Addressing the reactions, the teenager explained that the name was given to him by his paternal grandfather, Muniru Olatunji Balogun, who is widely known as Alhaji Balogun.
“My paternal grandpa is Muslim and gave me the name,” Boluwatife explained during the online exchange.
The revelation also highlighted the Muslim heritage within the family of Wizkid, whose full name is Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun. The singer himself bears the Arabic name Ibrahim, reflecting the influence of Islam in his family background.
His father, Muniru Olatunji Balogun, is regarded as a respected figure in his community and reportedly served for many years as a local leader in the Alaba area of Lagos. He is also credited with supporting development efforts that helped bring electricity to the Alaba Oro community in Ajegunle during the early 1970s.
Wizkid has previously spoken about growing up in a multi faith household, explaining that his father practices Islam while his mother is a Pentecostal Christian. The singer has also noted that his upbringing took place within a polygamous family structure, as his father had three wives.
Boluwatife’s revelation has since continued to generate conversation online, with many fans reflecting on the cultural and religious diversity within one of Nigeria’s most influential music families.
