The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has called on investors to take advantage of the vast business and investment opportunities available in the nation’s capital to drive sustainable economic growth and development.
Wike made the call at the opening ceremony of the 2025 Abuja Business and Investment Summit, held at the Bola Tinubu International Conference Centre, Abuja.
Represented by the FCT Minister of State, Dr. Mariya Mahmoud, Wike said the FCT Administration under his leadership remains determined to make Abuja not only the administrative capital of Nigeria, but also a model of sustainable urban development in Africa.
He said the summit’s theme: “Empowering sustainable growth: unlocking potentials in emerging markets,” aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which prioritizes inclusive growth, infrastructure revitalization, and job creation.
According to him, the FCT Administration is focused on improving infrastructure, especially road networks linking satellite towns, area councils, and rural communities to the city center, to enhance industrialization and economic integration.
“As Abuja symbolizes Nigeria’s aspirations, our mission, supported by Mr. President, is to make it a safe, investment-friendly city that empowers all citizens,” the minister said.
Wike commended the Abuja Investment Company Limited (AICL) for organizing the summit, describing it as a vital platform for fostering partnerships that can stimulate the economic growth of the FCT.

He assured that the FCT Administration remains open to new ideas, collaborations, and innovative solutions that can accelerate investment and development across sectors.
Earlier, the Group Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of AICL, Ambassador Maureen Tamuno, said the 2025 Expo reflects the goals of the Renewed Hope Agenda by boosting investor confidence, stabilizing the micro-economy, and promoting sustainable development.
Tamuno noted that this year’s edition brought together investors, entrepreneurs, innovators, and development partners from across Nigeria and abroad, including delegates from South Africa, the United Kingdom, Canada, and Botswana.
She added that the programme features special “Youth Day” and “Women’s Day” sessions to promote inclusion, innovation, and access to investment opportunities.
“ABIEXPO 2025 marks the next chapter of Abuja’s transformation into a resilient, globally competitive city,” Tamuno said.
