Ebonyi State Governor, David Nweze Umahi, has been conferred with the Grand Service Star award by the Rivers State Government.
Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike conferred the honours on Umahi and other Distinguished Nigerians during the Rivers State Honours Award 2022 held Saturday.
Beneficiaries of the Honours Award were drawn from serving and former Governors, Lawyers, people from the business Class, the Traditional Institution, the Religious Class, the academics among others.
Conferring the award of Honours on deserving Nigerians, Wike said the event was put together to appreciate Nigerians who have in one way or the other contributed to the growth and development of Rivers State.

He clarified that the Honours Award is without borders in terms of ethnic origin and political party affiliation aimed at promoting the unity of Nigeria.
Earlier in his Opening Speech, the Chairman, Rivers State Honours Award, Chief Ferdinand Alabrabra, said the Award which was established in 2017 is designed to reward excellence in public service.
The Nnu troop of the Ebonyi State Council for Arts and Culture was on hand to thrill the audience at the event.
Several other Nigerians received various categories of Awards during the colourful ceremony held at the banquet hall of the Rivers State Government House.
