The Conference of Professionals in the Peoples Democratic Party (CP-PDP) has issued a scathing rebuke against former Rivers State Governor and current Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Chief Nyesom Wike, accusing him of crossing the red line with his relentless attacks on the PDP. The group condemned Wike’s recent media outburst, in which he insulted the party’s leadership and labeled the National Working Committee (NWC) as “stupid.”
Barr. Obinna Nwachukwu, Protem National Coordinator of the CP-PDP, made this declaration in a statement, stressing that Wike’s actions are undermining the party’s credibility. He accused the FCT Minister of persistently de-marketing the PDP, publicly ridiculing its leadership, and openly aligning with the All Progressives Congress (APC). Wike’s endorsement of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for re-election in 2027, according to the CP-PDP, is further proof of his disloyalty.
The group called on the NWC to act decisively by expelling Wike from the party to safeguard its integrity. It argued that his continued presence in the PDP, despite his open support for the APC government, is damaging to the party’s future. The CP-PDP maintained that Wike has not demonstrated the loyalty, respect, and commitment expected of a PDP member, and his actions are detrimental to the party’s survival.

Warning of potential consequences, the CP-PDP declared that if the party fails to discipline Wike, the group will be left with no choice but to declare him persona non grata at all PDP offices, meetings, and functions nationwide. They insisted that he should make his defection to the APC official, as he is already serving in an APC-led government.
In addition, the group revealed that its legal team is compiling evidence to take legal action against Wike for defaming the PDP. They urged the minister to cease his attacks on the party, warning that the CP-PDP is prepared to confront him directly to defend the PDP and Nigeria’s democracy.
Reaffirming its commitment to strengthening the party, the CP-PDP assured party members and Nigerians that it will not relent in its mission to protect and rebuild the PDP ahead of the crucial political battles to come.
