Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has dismissed reports claiming he collapsed last week, labeling the rumours as baseless and politically motivated.
Speaking on Thursday after inspecting four ongoing projects in the FCT, including the International Conference Centre (ICC), Wike refuted the rumors circulating on social media platform X, which alleged that he had collapsed at an event last Friday, and was rushed to an undisclosed hospital for treatment.

“These are the handiwork of people with no credibility, trying to score cheap political points,” Wike said.
His media aide, Lere Olayinka, had earlier debunked the claims, describing them as entirely false.
The minister’s public appearance and project inspections further discredited the speculation, reinforcing that he remains active in his official duties.
