The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike has declared that he is the second most abused politician in Nigeria after President Bola Tinubu.
He made this statement while announcing that political activities in Rivers State will officially commence in January 2026.
Wike spoke during a thanksgiving service held by former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Chibudom Nwuche, in the Ochiba community of Ahoada East Local Government Area.
The former governor of Rivers State reiterated his strong loyalty to President Tinubu, emphasizing his commitment to honoring agreements and political decisions made in good faith.
He expressed gratitude to the people of Ahoada East and Ahoada West for their unwavering support over the years.
Reflecting on the 2023 general elections, Wike commended the residents for their steadfast backing of Tinubu during a period of uncertainty among many politicians, noting that their support was crucial in solidifying the president’s mandate in Rivers State.

He appeared to criticize politicians who have recently joined the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), implying that their support was belated.
Wike stressed the importance of honoring political agreements and warned that his faction would not be overlooked as the next political cycle approaches.
He suggested that the frequent attacks against him are a result of his insistence on accountability and adherence to agreements, alleging that some politicians target him for their own benefit.
Earlier, Nwuche praised Wike for his contributions to the development of the Ekpeye Kingdom, particularly for elevating several traditional positions during his governorship.
He noted that Wike’s leadership had a positive impact on the community, earning him lasting loyalty in the region.
