Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, responded on Thursday to claims that he allocated around 41 plots of land to his two sons, labeling the allegations as the work of a disgraced politician from Adamawa State.
Although, he did not disclose the identity of the alleged instigator, stating that such details do not aid national progress, Wike asserted that he has never made any such land allocations.
He made these comments during a media discussion that was broadcast in Abuja.
However, there have been serious allegations against Wike regarding the allocation of 2,082 hectares of land in Asokoro and Maitama to one of his sons.
The accusations also included a document that purportedly shows land allocated for farming in the Bwari Area Council to a company called JOAQ Farms, which was presented as evidence of the false claims.
Wike’s Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media, had previously issued a statement, clarifying that land was indeed allocated to Jordan Farms and Estates Limited.

He emphasized that the company is a legally registered entity in Nigeria and has no connections to any of Wike’s children.
“Certainly, land was properly allocated to Jordan Farms and Estates Limited, which is a registered company in Nigeria, and none of the FCT minister’s children serve as directors of this company.
“Just because one of the FCT minister’s sons is named Jordan and there is a company called Jordan Farms and Estates Limited does not mean that the company is owned by Wike’s son.
“Ownership records for the company can be found at the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), and we challenge those spreading these claims to disclose the names of the company’s owners.”
