A widow to an American citizen, Mrs. Mary Moore, who was abducted on her way to board a flight at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, has been rescued after spending 72 hours in captivity.
The incident occurred on September 8, 2025, around 5:30 p.m. in the Wuse Zone 3 area of the Federal Capital Territory while she was en route to the airport.
Family sources told Journalists that Moore was heading to catch an Air Peace flight scheduled for 8:30 p.m. to Lagos, where she was to attend a U.S. immigration visa interview the following morning at the American consulate.

Security sources said she was seized by armed men who whisked her to an undisclosed location later traced to neighbouring Nasarawa State by operatives of the police anti-kidnapping squad.
“The team kept tracking and searching until she was eventually found on September 11, almost unconscious, in a community in Kubwa, Abuja,” one of the sources said.
The kidnappers reportedly dispossessed her of $2,000 and other valuables before abandoning her.
She was taken to hospital for treatment and has since been discharged, with family sources confirming that she is recovering.
