Secretary of the G o v e r n o r ’ s Advisory Council (GAC), the highest decision making organ of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos, Alhaji Mutiu Are, has said that the commendable performance of the state’s helmsman, Babajide Olushola SanwoOlu, was responsible for his endorsement for a second term in office.
“The people of the state are positively feeling the impact of his administration and his achievements are obvious and physically visible for people to see,” the GAC scribe explained.
“He has been able to endear himself to the political class while also building a solid and huge acceptance with the general public,” he said.
Are praised Governor Sanwo-Olu for making the party proud through his performance in office, which has made the people revive their love for the APC.
“He has done well and he has proven to be a good disciple of our great leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. We are proud of him and the party is also happy with him,” he said.
On Monday, April 18, 2022, the GAC announced the endorsement of Sanwo-Olu for a second term in office during its meeting, which took place on the same day.
In a related development, a non-governmental organisation (NGO), Women for Change Initiatives (WFCI), has described as commendable and praise-worthy, the decision of the GAC to endorse Sanwo-Olu for a second term. Leader of the NGO, Barr. Eyitope Success-Adekunle, said the step was a right one because it was in line with the thoughts of the overwhelming population of the people of the state.
According to the woman activist, it would have been a great disservice to the generality of the good people of Lagos State and to the governor himself if the GAC’s decision had been otherwise, hailing the body for its thoughtfulness and sound decision made at the appropriate time.

The lawyer was of the conviction that “the declaration of endorsement for the governor’s second term in office will go a long way in putting the minds of a lot of residents at rest.” She noted that the people have been waiting anxiously for the good news and now that it has finally come, the governor would also be able to concentrate more, knowing full well that the first hurdle has been crossed, The Trumpet gathered.
The NGO boss, therefore, tasked all the groups and organisations yearning for more good governance post 2023, as represented by SanwoOlu, to prepare the ground well for the governor’s formal declaration which they have been waiting for, reminding that, “it is not over until it is over properly.”
Against this forgoing, the woman activist, therefore, urged the governor to keep on fixing his gaze on the ball as usual, assuring that, “we have never been doubtful of your capability to coast home well now and surpass your performance now, when you eventually come back for the second term.”
