Iran’s foreign minister says his country is “prepared” for war if the US intervenes following a deadly crackdown on anti-government protesters.
But speaking on Monday morning, Abbas Araghchi says Iran “does not seek war.”
It comes after President Donald Trump warned the US is considering “very strong options” to intervene in the country.

The US-based rights group HRANA says nearly 500 protesters have been killed since the protests began
Anger over the plummeting value of the Iranian currency sparked the demonstrations in late December.
Meanwhile, Iran remains under a days-long internet blackout, making it difficult to get information; the BBC and most other international news media are also unable to report from inside the country
One Iranian the BBC has spoken to via Starlink says: “This grief and fury shouldn’t stay hidden… the world should know what’s happening to us inside.”
