Wardiere Oakmount, a leading real estate firm, has announced an ambitious plan to construct a state-of-the-art shopping mall worth N2.9 billion in the Kuje area of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja. This groundbreaking project is poised to transform Kuje into a bustling commercial hub, bringing world-class shopping experiences closer to residents.
Kunle Ilori, the Chairman of Wardiere Oakmount, revealed in a statement that Kuje’s strategic location makes it an ideal site for such a transformative development. The mall, designed to span over three hectares of land, will house 188 retail stores and 87 commercial units, catering to the diverse needs of the growing population in Kuje and its neighboring areas.
Ilori emphasized the support of the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), which has pledged to establish a new fire station and deploy firefighting trucks near the estate’s entrance.
Strategically located just four minutes from the 1,000-unit housing project commissioned by former FCT Minister Nasir El-Rufai, the mall is set to be inaugurated by the current FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, in March 2025. The development also benefits from improved connectivity, thanks to a new road linking Kuje directly to the Abuja International Airport in just eight minutes, further enhancing its accessibility.

Murooj Al-Arab Construction, a reputable firm known for its high-quality standards and international expertise, has been contracted to bring this vision to life. Engr. Mustafa Ameer, the company’s Chief Engineer, revealed that construction techniques and standards from Lebanon and Dubai would be employed to ensure the mall meets global benchmarks.
Kuje has witnessed a surge in development, making it a prime location for such an investment. Residents in Kuje, Gwagwalada, and nearby areas currently face limited shopping options and often travel to Lugbe’s Shoprite for their needs. This new mall will bridge the gap, offering a wide range of products, from groceries and electronics to luxury fashion brands like Gucci and Fendi.
The mall’s strategic position near key landmarks such as the Kuje Rice Mill and Kilimanjaro restaurant adds to its appeal. With enhanced access to Apo and Gwagwalada, and its proximity to major locations like the University of Abuja and the airport, the development is set to become a significant commercial and social hub.
Wardiere Oakmount’s initiative is expected to not only elevate the shopping experience in Kuje but also boost the local economy, creating jobs and attracting international brands. Residents and visitors alike can look forward to a new era of convenience, luxury, and growth in this thriving Abuja suburb.
