The Nigeria Super Eagles have been held to a goalless stalemate by the Black Stars of Ghana in the first leg of the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifying contest.
The Black Stars which pulled some strings could not find the back of the net of the resilient Super Eagles that pulled out some stunts to curtail the attack of the home side at the Baba Yara Stadium, Kumasi.
Unable to capitalize on home advantage to edge Nigeria in the contest before the the second leg encounter at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium on 29 March, the Black Stars may likely be punished for trading away such a costly mistake.
However, The Trumpet reports that the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) had earlier admonished the nation’s senior men’s teams tournament to put their all to ensure the country picks the ticket to fly the name of the nation in the world cup event taking place later this year by November.

Nevertheless, the Super Eagles are expected to return immediately to Abuja after the clash to adequately prepare ahead of the decisive second leg qualifying FIFA World Cup match against Ghana.
It is noteworthy to state that the Black Stars’ efforts were frustrated having made several attempts but were quelled by the formidable defence of the Super Eagles.
