A video featuring an elderly man from Benin City, Edo State, who emotionally claimed during a church service to be the biological father of the renowned Nigerian music star, Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, better known as Wizkid has gone viral online.
The dramatic clip, recorded amidst a worship session, shows the man asserting that Wizkid’s late mother, who has been previously identified as a significant figure in the singer’s life, was married to a man named Balogun.
However, he insists that he is the true paternal figure of the Grammy-winning artist.
As he spoke before the congregation and the officiating pastor, his voice trembled with emotion as he accused Wizkid of abandoning him despite the singer’s immense fame and fortune.
The pastor, who led the service, seemingly supported the man’s claims by stating that he had seen the name “Wizkid” in the spiritual realm during his prayers.
He went further by confirming that the man before him indeed had a son who is wealthy and successful.
“I’m seeing something like Wizkid. It sounds like Wisk,” the pastor expressed, drawing the attention of the congregation.

The elderly man then astonished everyone by recalling details about Wizkid’s birthday, which is celebrated in July, and referred to the artist as a friend of fellow superstar Davido.
“He’s a billionaire,” he proclaimed, emphasizing his connection to the young musician.
Gasps of disbelief filled the church as the congregation reacted to the mention of Wizkid’s name.
Many of the church members erupted into exclamations of “Jesus!” while others cheered and whispered among themselves, visibly shaken by the revelation.
Wizkid has never publicly acknowledged any paternal figure other than Alhaji Muniru Olatunji Balogun, who is widely recognized as his father.
Alhaji Muniru has made numerous public appearances alongside Wizkid and was present during the burial of the singer’s mother in October 2023, further solidifying his status in Wizkid’s life.
