Pro. Uyi Akpata has been re-elected as the President of the Nigeria Cricket Federation (NCF).
This announcement came on Monday after Uyi received all 47 votes during the election held over the weekend at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja.
Wale Obalola was also re-elected unopposed as vice president, securing all 47 votes.
Other successful candidates include Chika Okoro for the South East, Tayo Atoloye for the South West, Ladan Usman for the North West, Femi John for the South South, Dare Aimola for the North Central, Zainab Ishaku Adamu for the North East, and Olumide Akintokun as the technical representative.
The list is rounded out by Endurance Ofem as the player’s representative, Prof. Mariam Suleiman for NAWIS, Chuma Anosike as sponsor’s representative, and Major Monica Wuballa for the military/paramilitary sector.
In his remarks following the election, Akpata expressed his gratitude for the confidence placed in him and presented a detailed 10-point plan aimed at promoting the sustainable development of cricket in Nigeria.
“People have recognized the progress cricket has made under our leadership, and we truly appreciate that.

“However, I believe the real work is just beginning. This journey requires collective effort,” he stated.
A key focus of Akpata’s agenda for his second term is the creation of zonal cricket associations across all geopolitical regions.
He noted that these associations will facilitate structured grassroots initiatives and enhance collaboration with state governments.
With his re-election confirmed, Akpata is now focused on implementing his 10-point agenda, anticipated to cover the establishment of zonal cricket associations, grassroots cricket development, expansion of cricket infrastructure, and the creation of high-performance centers.
Others include strategic partnerships at national and international levels, youth engagement and school cricket programs, promoting gender inclusion in cricket, and capacity building for coaches and officials, among others.
