The Kano State Government has suspended the April 2025, end of month sanitation exercise to allow for the smooth conduct of the ongoing Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) examination in the state.
The state commissioner for environment and climate change, Dr. Dahiru Hashim, said the decision was taken after careful consideration and consultation with relevant stakeholders, in an effort to allow students in the state to write their examination without any hitches.

The Ministry’s director of public enlightenment, Ismail Gwammaja in a statement quoted the Commissioner to have said, “The suspension is aimed at preventing any potential disruptions to the examination process and ensuring that candidates can sit for their exams without any hindrance.”
Dr. Hashim however noted that the sanitation exercise will resume in its full force by May 2025.
While appealing to residents to cooperate with the authorities in keeping a good environment and avoiding indiscriminate dumping of waste, he said the ministry is committed to ensuring a clean and healthy environment, adding that, it also would also ensure sanitation activities do not conflict with other important events in the state.
The commissioner further wished all the students success in their exams.
