The government of the United States has announced a reward of up to $10 million for information concerning several senior officials in Iran, as tensions continue to rise across the Middle East.
The reward offer is part of the Rewards for Justice Program operated by the US Department of State, which provides financial incentives to individuals who supply credible intelligence on persons involved in terrorism or activities considered a threat to American national security.
According to reports from Agence France-Presse, the announcement targets high-ranking Iranian figures believed to have links with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, one of the most powerful military and security institutions in Iran.
Among the individuals reportedly mentioned is Mojtaba Khamenei, who has recently emerged as an influential figure within Iran’s political and religious leadership.
US authorities said the reward is intended to encourage individuals with credible information to assist in identifying, locating, or providing further insight into the activities of the individuals named under the programme.
The development comes at a time of heightened diplomatic and military tension between Washington and Tehran, amid ongoing instability in several parts of the Middle East.

Security analysts say the move reflects growing concerns within the United States over the activities of Iranian-linked networks and their potential impact on regional stability and international security.
US officials added that individuals who provide useful and verifiable information under the programme could qualify for financial compensation and may also be considered for protection measures depending on the sensitivity of the information provided.
The Rewards for Justice initiative has previously been used by the United States government to track individuals accused of terrorism and other security-related offences around the world.
