United Nigeria Airlines has confirmed that it has accepted the public apologies issued by Martins Vincent Otse, known on social media as VeryDarkMan, and Freedom Okpetoritse Atsepoyi, widely recognised as Mr Jollof, after an onboard altercation that disrupted the boarding of Flight UNO523 on 17 November during the Asaba to Lagos service.

The airline stated that both men offered their apologies through their social media pages and pledged to avoid any behaviour that could threaten aviation safety or undermine decorum during flights. The management noted that this commitment would help preserve a calm and orderly environment for all travellers. The airline also praised the swift intervention of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, the Airport Security team, and other aviation agencies, along with its crew and operations staff, who handled the incident in line with aviation safety protocols.

United Nigeria Airlines reaffirmed its support for the ongoing industry-wide effort led by the Airline Operators of Nigeria and other regulatory bodies to curb disruptive conduct aboard aircraft. It urged passengers to cooperate with airline staff, security operatives, and airport authorities to protect the safety and integrity of air travel across the country.

The company emphasised that it remains dedicated to providing safe and dignified service throughout its network, adding that its focus is to ensure a reliable travel experience for every passenger.
