Manchester United legend, Paul Scholes lashes at the United Boss, Ralf Rangnick after a disappointing draw with Southampton in Old Trafford on Saturday.

The Red Devils had taken a 1-0 lead from Jadon Sancho’s goal midway in the first half but ended the match in a one-all draw to spark an unpleasant reaction from Scholes who undeniably called Raff Rangnick a sporting director.

According to Scholes’s statement to the media, the erstwhile United coach, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s sack was imminent due to his disappointing performances but there was no plan to bring in a reputable coach to turn around the fortune of the club.

He said the Red Devils have what it takes to get the best of everything but was surprised to see them acquire the services of a coach who he thinks has not been deeply involved in the game consistently for like a decade.

Scholes said, “The sacking of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was coming, we all knew that, but where was the plan?”

“You’d think there has to be a plan; they must be bringing in an elite, top football coach into the football club to revive the situation.

“It’s Man United, they should have the best of everything. To not have a plan and bring in a sporting director. I think he’s coached a team two years out of the last 10 years,” he added.

The United legend refuted having any form of acrimony with Rangnick but criticised his coaching styles which according to him, the United Boss lacks experience of the game.

He went further to praise the Southampton team for their brilliant performances and teamwork noting that United has drifted towards individual performances without team cohesion.

“Don’t get me wrong, I like the man, I think he comes across really well, but he looks like he’s lacked experience in coaching over the last five or six years, whatever it’s been.

“United are a team of individuals. You look at the difference from the Man United team to Southampton.

“Southampton were brilliant, the coaching, methods, passages of play, it was fantastic. You look at Manchester United and they were all over the place. McTominay was left on his own in midfield, Pogba left on his own in midfield, where Bruno Fernandes is playing, I don’t know.

“He’s playing all over the pitch, the wide players don’t work hard enough, it isn’t always about being in possession, sometimes you’ve got to do ugly stuff that gives you a bit of pain. So often this team jogs back and it’s so easy to play against.
