The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba, has ordered the deployment of Police officers to ensure a coordinated security arrangement for Nigerian returnees from Ukraine.
Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Disaster Management Unit (DMU), DCP Mary Obasi is leading the operations, which began on Thursday.
According to the Police, the operation is being carried out in collaboration with officials of the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and operatives of other security agencies.
So far, the operation has received returnees from Bucharest, Romania; Warsaw, Poland and Hungary.

Nigeria has evacuated 807 of its citizens from war-raged Ukraine as at Saturday.
The evacuees arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja in three flights.
The Trumpet reports that the first batch of 450 Nigerians stranded in Ukraine arrived aboard Max Air flight 747 at 7:10 a.m., on Friday through Romania.
The second batch came aboard Air Peace Boeing 777-300 flight (APK7534) and arrived in Abuja with 183 passengers including kids through Warsaw, Poland.
The third batch of 174 evacuees arrived at 11.50 p.m. on Friday through Hungary.
