The Ughelli South Political Colonels, a grassroots bloc within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State, have renewed their pledge of absolute loyalty to the party and vowed to deliver sweeping victory in the 2027 general elections.
The declaration came during a courtesy visit to the Delta State APC Chairman, Elder Omeni Sobotie, at the party’s state secretariat in Asaba.
Addressing the gathering, Chairman of the Ughelli South Political Colonels, Olorogun John Evwenode, said the visit was aimed at reaffirming the group’s commitment to the unity and progress of the party. According to him, the Colonels have embarked on extensive grassroots mobilization to ensure APC’s dominance in Ughelli South and beyond.
“We are here to assure you of our unwavering loyalty and readiness to deliver Ughelli South 100 percent for the APC in 2027,” Evwenode said. “Our mission is to fortify the party’s structures, bridge internal gaps, and ensure total victory at the polls.”

In his response, Delta State APC Chairman, Elder Omeni Sobotie, commended the Ughelli South Political Colonels for their loyalty and organizational strength, describing their visit as “a reflection of renewed hope and unity within the APC.”
He urged members across the state to remain united and resist internal divisions, stressing that inclusion and teamwork remain the foundation of the party’s success. “No man prevails by the number of enemies he has, but by the number of friends he is able to make,” Sobotie said. “Our victory in 2027, both in Delta and nationally, depends on how united we are as a party.”
Sobotie dismissed any notion of segregation between old and new members, emphasizing that the APC in Delta State operates as one family. “There are no old or new members in the APC today. Everyone is equal, and every right and privilege are fully recognized,” he said.
He expressed confidence in the party’s growing influence, noting that the opposition in Delta had become weakened and disorganized. “The APC is divinely favoured,” he declared. “Anyone planning to challenge us in 2027 will be running into a brick wall. With two governments, one in Abuja under President Bola Tinubu and another here in Asaba under our able governor, we have every reason to stay united and work harder.”
Sobotie praised the Ughelli South Political Colonels for their strong grassroots presence and dedication, describing them as an emerging force capable of shaping the state’s political direction. “I am impressed with your zeal and discipline,” he said. “Continue on this path and, by God’s grace, you will rise from Colonels to Generals in your political journey.”
The meeting ended on a hopeful note, with both parties pledging to deepen collaboration, expand the party’s membership base, and strengthen APC’s structures across Delta State.
