Former two-term Governor of Delta State, Dr. Emmanuel Ewetan Uduaghan, has formally returned to the All Progressives Congress (APC) with a massive wave of supporters.
The high-profile defection took place on Wednesday, May 7, at Dr. Uduaghan’s residence in Warri GRA, where he was officially welcomed back into the APC fold. The former governor, who contested for the Delta South Senatorial seat under the APC in 2019, was issued his new party membership card tagged ‘Delta WRN//023/32001’.
Dr. Uduaghan’s return was warmly received by top APC leaders including Comrade Tenumah MN Alero, former Delta South Women Leader of the party; Mr. George Ino, Chairman of APC Abigborodo Ward 6; and several other key stakeholders at both ward and local government levels. His re-entry is already being hailed as a strategic boost for the APC, especially in Warri North, where his political influence remains formidable.
Expressing gratitude to the party leaders for their support and warm reception, Dr. Uduaghan promised to work closely with the APC structure in Delta State, pledging continuous synergy to reposition the party for success across the state.
In a show of loyalty and political continuity, his daughter, Orode Uduaghan, who currently serves as the Delta State Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs, Community Support Services, and Child Development, also obtained her APC membership card from the ward leadership, further cementing the family’s political alignment.

Kpenosen Great; and former PDP Ward 6 Chairman, Edun Ephraim, signaling a broader realignment within Delta State’s political landscape.
Speaking during the ceremony, APC chieftain Comrade Tenumah praised Uduaghan’s return as a timely and powerful reinforcement for the party, especially as it works to consolidate power in Warri North and expand influence across the state. Tenumah urged all new entrants to complete their membership registration and actively contribute to the success of President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s M.O.R.E Agenda.
With Uduaghan’s comeback already making waves, political analysts suggest that his influence, combined with that of other prominent returnees, could significantly shift the balance of power in Delta State ahead of future elections.
