High Chief Emmanuel Oritsejolomi Uduaghan has come to the defense of his wife, Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, despite the recent circulation of legal documents detailing how she once sued him before their marriage. The leaked documents, dated November 19, 2020, outlined serious allegations against Uduaghan, including breach of promise of marriage, financial exploitation, physical assault, and attempts to induce a miscarriage.
However, in a public statement issued on March 1, 2025, Uduaghan dismissed the resurfaced allegations as an unnecessary distraction from more pressing issues. The statement, released under his official title as the Alema of Warri Kingdom, focused on an ongoing dispute between his wife and the Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio.
Uduaghan described Natasha as a “devoted wife” and a “truthful” leader, emphasizing that she was duly elected by her people due to their confidence in her leadership. He acknowledged that she had confided in him about harassment from the Senate President, whom he initially considered a family friend. In response, he claimed to have approached the matter maturely, meeting with Akpabio to resolve the issue amicably.

However, despite reaching an agreement, Uduaghan stated that his wife continued to endure mistreatment. He called on the Senate and relevant authorities to ensure that Natasha is treated with the dignity and respect she deserves.
His strong public support for Natasha has sparked fresh debates, especially given the now-viral legal documents suggesting a rocky past between them. Some political analysts believe Uduaghan’s statement is an attempt to shield his wife from further controversy, while others see it as a demonstration of unwavering commitment to their marriage.
With legal proceedings reportedly ongoing, the situation continues to attract public interest, leaving many to wonder how the couple’s past and present battles will ultimately unfold.
