Just hours before the news broke about a $260 million sexual assault lawsuit filed against him, Tyler Perry shared a video stating that, at the time, seemed harmless but now raises eyebrows in light of the allegations from one of his actors.
In the video, he advises his fans to “be as calm as you can.” He also mentioned that a second season of the drama “Beauty in Black” is on the way, but his remarks take on a different significance given the serious nature of the lawsuit.
We reported the story shortly after Perry’s video was posted, revealing that “The Oval” actor Derek Dixon is suing him, alleging that Perry sent him sexually suggestive texts and made inappropriate advances.
The lawsuit includes several texts purportedly from Perry, some of which are sexual in nature, including one that states, “No straight man would be going on walks with you or cooking dinner for you unless they wanted to f*** you. I would f*** you.”

Perry’s attorney, Matthew Boyd, responded by saying, “This is someone who got close to Tyler Perry seemingly just to set up a scam.
Tyler will not be intimidated, and we are confident that these fabricated harassment claims will not succeed.”
It’s worth noting that many comments on Perry’s recent TikTok suggest that his fans continue to support him despite the lawsuit.
It seems Perry is encouraging his fans to “Keep Calm and Support On” during this challenging time, and they are responding positively.
