Two members of the Christ Apostolic Church in Ibadan, Oyo State, have been arraigned before an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court over alleged threats to kill two pastors and other worshippers.

The defendants, Ezekiel Akinniyi, 63, and Wale Oguntade, were docked on Friday on charges of conspiracy and threat to life.

The prosecutor, Inspector Kehinde Olarotimi, told the court that the defendants allegedly committed the offences between 2022 and December 2025 at a CAC parish located along Sango-Poly Road, Ibadan.

Olarotimi alleged that the defendants unlawfully threatened to kill Pastor Michael Ajayi, Pastor Daramola and other members of the church.

He further told the court that the defendants, alongside others said to be at large, allegedly locked the church gate during a service and threatened to unleash terror on the congregation.

The prosecutor said the offences contravene Sections 86 and 516 of the Criminal Law of Oyo State, 2000.

The defendants, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The Magistrate, Mrs Adebola Adeola, granted them bail in the sum of N500,000 each, with two sureties each in like sum.

The case was adjourned till February 16 for hearing.
