Two women have been arrested and arraigned by the police in Lagos for allegedly uploading their friend’s sex videos on social media.
A police source, who spoke with The Trumpet, said the reason the suspects gave during interrogation was that they were not happy that their friend got married before them. The two ladies, identified as Faith Osemeuieme and Solace Okonta, both aged 26, were arraigned before Ogba Magistrate Court in Lagos.
It was gathered that the victim and the two ladies in question were close friends before she got married and distanced herself from them to face marital responsibilities.

To the two suspects, this was reason enough to dig into her past life with a view to disgrace and destroy the victim’s marriage. They were said to have obtained the sex video, which all of them recorded while they were spinsters and uploaded it on social media.
When the victim saw the video trending on social media, she confronted them because she knew they were the only ones who knew about it. While she tried to question them, they beat her up seriously and injured her in the process.
The case was reported through a petition to the Lagos State Commissioner of Police (CP) Abiodun Alabi, who ordered full investigation into the allegations. Human Rights Resource Center, Police Command Headquarters, Ikeja, trailed and successfully arrested the culprits and later detained them for interrogation.
After a thorough probe, the police found them culpable and subsequently charged them before the Ogba Magistrate Court for assault and conduct likely to cause breach of public peace.
They, however, pleaded not guilty upon arraignment. The case has been adjourned till June 20, 2022, while the accused have been remanded at the Female Correctional Facility in Kirikiri, Lagos.
