Tunisia overcame a deficit to defeat Kenya 3-1, securing their inaugural victory in the 2025 U-20 Africa Cup of Nations while Morocco and Nigeria played to a scoreless tie in Group B on Sunday.
Based on the results, both Morocco and Nigeria are tied on points and goal difference at the top of Group B after two matches.
Tunisia earned their first three points of the tournament, positioning them in third place, whereas Kenya suffered their second consecutive loss, placing them last in the standings.
In Sunday’s match at the 30 June Air Defense Stadium, Kenya struck first in the 38th minute thanks to Lawrence Ouma Okoth, following an impressive run by Hassan Beja Kitsao along the edge of the field.

However, Kenya’s advantage was short-lived as Farès Bousnina converted a penalty 18 minutes into first-half stoppage time, equalizing just before halftime.
Tunisia took the lead in the 70th minute when substitute Omar Ben Ali finished from close range without a hitch, and fellow substitute Alaeddine Derbali added another goal in the 85th minute, seemingly with an intended cross, sealing the victory for Tunisia and extending Kenya’s struggles.
Kenya will get one last opportunity to secure a victory in this year’s tournament when they face Nigeria in their final group match at the 30 June Air Defence Stadium on Wednesday.
Tunisia will aim for consecutive wins and a place in the quarter-finals when they go up against Morocco at the Suez Canal Stadium on Wednesday.
