US President Donald Trump has officially signed the charter of his self-styled “Board of Peace” on Thursday in Davos, marking the launch of the organisation he has promoted as a new body for resolving international conflicts.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt announced, “Congratulations President Trump, the charter is now in full force, and the board of peace is now an official international organisation.”

The initiative, which Trump has described as a $1 billion venture, aims to position the United States at the centre of global conflict mediation, though critics have questioned its mandate, structure, and the involvement of controversial figures among its founding members.

The signing in Davos comes amid mixed reactions from world leaders and international observers, with some allies expressing scepticism over the board’s capacity to rival established institutions such as the United Nations.
