Truecaller, the global leader in contact verification and spam blocking, has achieved a major milestone in the Middle East and Africa (MEA), crossing 100 million monthly active users in August 2025. This marks a 19% year-on-year growth for the platform across both Android and iOS devices.
The surge comes amid a rapid rise in smartphone and mobile data adoption across the region, with countries such as Egypt, Nigeria, South Africa, Kenya, Algeria, Ghana, and Jordan ranking among Truecaller’s largest MEA markets. In these countries, the app is installed on between 20% and 45% of connected smartphones, helping millions of users identify unknown callers and block unwanted communications.

Since its launch in 2009, Truecaller has been downloaded over one billion times and now serves more than 450 million active users globally. In 2024 alone, the platform identified and blocked close to 56 billion unwanted calls. Headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden, Truecaller has been publicly listed on Nasdaq Stockholm since October 2021.
With spam calls, scams, and fraud attempts still on the rise globally, Truecaller’s growing footprint in MEA signals an increasing reliance on digital tools to secure everyday communication.
