A truck carrying sand crashed into the main gate of the Gombe State Government House on Tuesday, leaving the structure badly damaged.
The affected gate, which is part of an ongoing renovation project initiated by Governor Muhammadu Yahaya, has yet to be officially inaugurated.
Eyewitnesses at the scene said the accident occurred after the driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle, causing it to veer off the road and slam into the facility.
One trader who witnessed the incident described the moment as sudden and chaotic, noting that bystanders quickly moved to safety as the truck approached at high speed.
Another source confirmed that the impact severely affected sections of the gate, which forms part of the Government House upgrade project.

The truck is said to belong to Tricata Nigeria Limited, although its registration details were not immediately available.
Reacting to the incident, the Director-General of Press Affairs at the Government House, Ismaila Misilli, confirmed that no lives were lost.
He added that the driver sustained injuries and is currently receiving medical attention.
The Government House complex is undergoing extensive renovation as part of broader infrastructure development efforts by the state administration.
