Operation HADIN KAI of the Nigerian troops, in collaboration with members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), have successfully uncovered a large cache of improvised explosive devices (IEDs) strategically placed by Boko Haram and ISWAP terrorists on the critical bridge linking the towns of Marte and Dikwa in Borno State.
This was disclosed via the Army’s official X formerly Twitter handle on the 4th July 2025.
This vital discovery emerged from a meticulously planned clearance operation conducted by specialized Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) teams, who were deployed from both the Marte and Dikwa Forward Operating Bases.
According to the statement, during the operation, a total of 56 fully prepared IEDs were identified and safely recovered from the site.

The explosives were positioned to potentially carry out a catastrophic attack, threatening both military personnel and local civilians. In response, controlled procedures are currently being implemented to neutralize the remaining devices, ensuring their complete safety and eventual disposal.
