The army successfully rescued four kidnap victims during a raid on a kidnappers’ hideout in Ugbolu Forest, Ohimili North Local Government Delta State.
This was confirmed by a statement released by the Assistant Director, Army Public Relations, Maj. Emmanuel Onoja on Wednesday.
He said that the troops acting on credible intelligence, launched the rescue operation and engaged the kidnappers in a fierce gun battle.
Maj. Onoja added that reports indicate that the abducted victims had been held captive in the forest for several days with the kidnappers demanding significant ransom amounts for their release.

He stated that the troops prompt and well-coordinated action prevented the criminals from achieving their aims, just as the troops provided assistance to the victims and their families.
He added that the rescued victims received essential medical attention and support before being reunited with their relatives.
Maj. Onoja urged members of the public to remain watchful and report any suspicious activity to security authorities as soon as possible, reassuring that the army is dedicated to eliminating all forms of criminality in Delta State and safeguarding the safety and security of its residents.
