Troops of Operation Hadin Kai, have repelled multiple coordinated terrorist attacks across several locations in Borno and Yobe States, dealing a decisive blow to the insurgents in the early hours of Thursday.
According to a statement signed by Lt. Col. Sani Uba, Media Information Officer for the Joint Task Force North East Operation Hadin Kai, the attacks occurred between midnight and 4:00 a.m. in Dikwa, Maga, Gajiba, and Katarko within Sectors 1 and 2 of the Joint Operations Area.
The statement said the terrorists launched simultaneous assaults on military positions but met stiff resistance from troops who “stood firm, fought gallantly, and professionally repelled the attacks.”
“The coordinated offensive response was supported by air platforms of the Air Component Command of OPHK. The precision strikes, coupled with enhanced battlefield awareness provided by Theatre Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) assets, gave troops additional leverage and impetus to respond with overwhelming and lethal force,” the statement read in part.
The combined ground and air operations reportedly resulted in the neutralization of over 50 terrorists while 70 others who sustained injuries were being pursued by ground troops with air support.

Intelligence gathered after the encounters, according to the statement , indicated that the attackers in Dikwa and Gajibo manoeuvred from the Cameroon axis, while those that struck Katarko advanced from the Timbuktu Triangle, a known terrorist enclave.
While some soldiers were wounded in action, the military confirmed they are in stable condition. A few vehicles and buildings were also destroyed by fires caused by the terrorists’ armed drones and RPG fire, particularly in Mafa and Dikwa where a part of the defence line was momentarily breached before being restored.
The Military High Command has commended the gallantry and resilience of the troops, describing their actions as a reaffirmation of the Nigerian military’s determination to defend the nation’s territorial integrity.
