Troops of the 6 Brigade, Nigerian Army/Sector 3 ‘Operation Whirl Stroke’ (OPWS), have recorded a significant victory in the ongoing ‘Operation Lafiya Nakowa’, an operation aimed at eliminating terrorists, bandits, and other criminal groups from Taraba State.
In a statement issued on Wednesday in Jalingo, the acting Assistant Director, Army Public Relations, 6 Brigade, Lt. Umar Muhammad, said the operation was carried out on October 14, 2025, when troops stationed at Tapga Ngasawa Village under Dampar District of Ibi Local Government Area launched a clearance offensive on suspected terrorist camps in Badekoshi, Fajul, Kurmi, and Dampar villages.
During the raid, the troops encountered the terrorists at Badekoshi, forcing them to flee toward Fajul near the forest.
“The soldiers pursued the fleeing suspects with superior firepower, dislodging them from their positions,” the statement added.
