Two notorious kidnappers have been neutralized, while four abducted victims were rescued by the troops of ‘Operation Safe Haven’ in a coordinated operation in Jema’a Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
Recovered from the kidnappers camp were arms, ammunition,10 mobile phones and N1.136 million cash.
A statement by the military on Sunday, said the operation against the kidnappers, began on February 14, 2025, at about 8:30pm, when troops from Sector 7 received a distress call about the abduction of passengers, along the Kafanchan-Kwoi Road, near Afana Daji Village.
“Responding swiftly, troops mobilized to the area and conducted search operations, leading to the rescue of one victim, who sustained a gunshot wound.
“Acting on credible intelligence, troops launched an offensive operation on February 15, 2025, at about 4:00om, targeting criminal hideouts in Angwan Rimi Forest in Jema’a Local Government Area.

“During the operation, troops engaged the kidnappers in a fierce gun battle, successfully neutralizing two criminals.
“A search of the area led to the recovery of one AK-47 rifle, one AK-47 magazine, eight rounds of 7.62mm (special) ammunition, 10 mobile phones, foodstuffs, and a cash sum of ₦1, 136, 000.00.
“Additionally, three kidnapped victims Mr. Mathew Ayemowa, Mr. Tunde Salam, and Mr. Mustapha Mohammed, were safely rescued.
“Following the successful operation, troops have continued to dominate the area with mobile patrols, to prevent further criminal activities and enhance security in the region,” the statement added.
