The trial of the former Minister of Power, Saleh Mamman, was stalled on Monday at the Federal High Court, Maitama, Abuja, following the failure of his defence team to produce a witness.
Mamman is standing trial before Justice James Omotosho on a 12-count charge filed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), bordering on conspiracy to commit money laundering to the tune of N33,804,830,503.73.
At Monday’s proceedings, defence counsel, Femi Atteh (SAN), told the court that he was unable to subpoena the defence witness because the individual was not available at his office.

He subsequently requested additional time to enable the defence to secure the witness’s attendance in court.
Justice Omotosho granted the request and adjourned the matter until February 26, 2026, for the defendant to open his defence.
Mamman is accused by the EFCC of conspiring to launder over N33.8 billion — funds allegedly linked to his tenure as minister of power.
