Tottenham Hotspur has announced that Fabio Paratici will return to his position as sporting director, two and a half years after being banned by FIFA.
Discussions about his potential return for the 53-year-old began in May.
Paratici will serve as joint sporting director alongside Johan Lange, overseeing the men’s football strategy at Spurs, which includes performance development, scouting, and recruitment.
He stepped down from his role in April 2023 after Italy’s highest sports court rejected his appeal against a 30-month FIFA ban for financial misconduct.
Paratici received the ban after Juventus, where he served as sporting director and managing director before joining Tottenham in 2021, was found guilty of false accounting, resulting in a 10-point deduction in Serie A.
Last month, a judge in Rome accepted a plea bargain from Paratici and other former Juventus executives, allowing him to avoid an 18-month prison sentence.
In Italy, plea deals do not require an admission of guilt or acceptance of liability.

“I’m thrilled to be returning to a club that I cherish,” Paratici stated.
“I have been collaborating with Johan, Vinai Venkatesham, and Thomas Frank as a consultant for several months, and I look forward to returning to London and joining the team full-time.
“I am confident that by working together with Johan, we can create a bright future for the club and its supporters.”
Tottenham plans to finalize its leadership structure by hiring a director of football operations to work alongside Paratici and Lange.
