Residents in these locations have long been vulnerable to flooding, largely due to the absence of functional drainage systems, which causes rainwater to overflow into homes during heavy storms.
While no fatalities have been reported, several buildings were destroyed, forcing many families to seek temporary shelter.
The Yobe State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) has since deployed officials to assess the damage and deliver relief materials to victims.
