Prominent political figures from across Nigeria set aside party affiliations to celebrate the wedding of Clinton Oborevwori, son of Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, and his bride, Knowledge Davidson.

The event, held at the Living Faith Church in Asaba, Delta State, Saturday, showcased a rare display of unity among leaders from diverse political and professional backgrounds.

President Bola Tinubu, represented by the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Mr. Festus Keyamo, SAN, praised Governor Oborevwori for his bridge-building leadership style.

Tinubu commended the Delta governor for governing beyond political and ethnic divides, embodying a pan-Deltan approach that fosters inclusivity and development.

Keyamo, delivering Tinubu’s goodwill message, emphasized the need for leaders to prioritize national unity over political and religious inclinations.

“If all leaders shun divisive tendencies, Nigeria will become a place where citizens can fulfil their God-given destinies,” he said.

Governor Oborevwori, in his remarks, expressed gratitude to President Tinubu and other dignitaries for their presence, noting that the gathering underscored the importance of relationships over political differences.

“It is a joy to see so many distinguished personalities from across the country honouring my family today. This is a testament to the goodwill we have cultivated,” he said.

He reflected on the joy of witnessing his son’s wedding, offering advice to the couple: “Marriage is a lifelong institution where patience, understanding, and prayer are essential. There is no perfect marriage, but with these virtues, they can build a peaceful home.”

The event was chaired by Zamfara State Governor, Alhaji Dauda Lawal, who highlighted the significance of marriage as a sacred institution.

He advised the couple to remain united and avoid third-party interference, describing the array of attendees as evidence of Governor Oborevwori’s detribalized leadership.

The sermon, delivered by Pastor Adekunle Shiyanbade of the Winners Church, focused on the foundations of a successful marriage.

He urged the couple to prioritize communication, prayer, and selfless love while cautioning against secrecy and insincerity.

The wedding attracted an impressive lineup of dignitaries, including Governors AbdulRahman AbdulRasaq (Kwara), Ahmadu Fintiri (Adamawa), Douye Diri (Bayelsa), Dapo Abiodun (Ogun), Sim Fubara (Rivers), and Hope Uzodinma (Imo).

Senate President Godswill Akpabio was represented by Sen. Joel-Onowakpo Thomas, while Former Senate President Bukola Saraki, Chief of Defense Staff General Christopher Musa, and several National Assembly members were also in attendance.

Wives of governors, deputy governors, former Delta State Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, and top business leaders such as Julius Rone of UTM Oil and Gas added to the prestigious gathering.
