Nigerian music star Tiwa Savage has opened up about a secret relationship with a fellow celebrity that left her feeling emotionally drained and disrespected.
In a candid conversation with American talk show host Joe Budden, she shared insights into the dynamics of their romance, which was shrouded in secrecy at her partner’s insistence.
Tiwa revealed that her partner was adamant about keeping their relationship private, stating he wanted to avoid public scrutiny.
The singer said her partner often justified his need for discretion by claiming he had to “work the room” during events they attended together.
“He told me he didn’t want us to go public. When we’re out, I might be talking to other people, but I’m only doing it so people don’t suspect.

“I remember thinking, okay, but how far are you going with this?” Tiwa recalled, illustrating the confusion and insecurity that stemmed from such an arrangement.
Despite understanding his rationale, Tiwa confessed that witnessing him engage openly with other women, while they were together, was profoundly hurtful.
“He had it good. We might be at the same event, and there he was, laughing and chatting with other ladies, yet still looking at me as if to say, don’t worry, I’m just doing it,’” she explained.
“And I felt completely powerless to voice my discomfort. It was happening right in front of me, and I couldn’t say anything.”
Through her reflections, Tiwa emphasized the toll the relationship took on her self-esteem and emotional well-being, highlighting the complexities and often challenging nature of navigating love in the public eye.
