Special Adviser on Media and Communications to President Bola Tinubu, Mr. Sunday Dare, has lauded Amaju Pinnick’s recent appointment as Special Adviser to CAF President, Patrice Motsepe.
Dare, a former minister of youth and sports, characterized this appointment as a significant advancement for both Nigerian and African football.
In a statement released on Tuesday, Dare congratulated Pinnick on his return to leadership in continental football.
Pinnick, who previously served as president of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), was appointed by Motsepe on Saturday, marking his reintegration into the CAF’s core decision-making group.
The presidential adviser praised Pinnick’s commitment to football governance and his ongoing impact on the sporting scene across Africa.

The former minister highlighted that Pinnick’s involvement in the CAF executive will once again position Nigeria at the forefront of significant football decisions on the continent.
“This is a victory for the nation and a moment of pride for Nigerian sports leadership, especially as President Bola Tinubu has called for the development of a robust sports economy in Nigeria under the Renewed Hope Agenda,” he added.
Pinnick has previously held the position of CAF first vice president and was a member of the FIFA Council.
During his time in office, he collaborated closely with Dare as minister to enhance Nigerian football.
Dare expressed hope that Pinnick’s new role would further elevate Nigeria’s standing in international football governance.
