President Bola Tinubu has encouraged people to pray more for the military and security forces who are working hard to protect the country, especially those fighting against terrorists and bandits.

While attending the Eid al-Adha prayers at Dodan Barracks in Lagos, he told reporters that the security agencies and those in need should be prioritized in our prayers, according to a statement from his spokesman, Bayo Onanuga.

“We should remember to pray and help those who are very vulnerable during this season of sacrifice. We must come together, look out for one another, and support our neighbors. Love should be shown to everyone,” he said.

“We also need to pray earnestly for our troops who work tirelessly to keep us safe. They face challenges from terrorism and banditry every day.

“We must specifically pray for them, honor their sacrifices, and continue to act responsibly as citizens,” he added.

During the prayer service, the Chief Imams of Lagos, Suleiman Abu-Nola, reminded Muslims to think about Abraham’s life of sacrifice.

“The main message today is sacrifice. We must learn to give up things for our families, our nation, and our community. Our service should be for Allah, not just for people,” he stated.

The chief imam urged worshippers to live peacefully and consider the needs of their neighbors, especially the poor and vulnerable.

“If we want to achieve the Nigeria of our dreams, we must be willing to make sacrifices. We need to unite as Nigerians for progress.”

“We have to rise above tribal feelings. Whether you are Igbo, Yoruba, or Hausa, we need to move beyond ethnic divisions,” the chief imam concluded.
