He emphasized the Federal Government’s commitment to improving infrastructure in the South-East, marking a shift from previous neglect to a new era of transformation and accessibility.

According to the Governor, Tinubu expressed confidence in the project’s execution and assured that the road would be a durable and impactful development for the South-East, North-Central, and South-South regions.

“I’m very much confident with the calibre of people that are handling this project as the president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

“I’m also very committed to the completion of this project because with the kind of mobilisation I see here today we may not have any hitches,” the President said.

Governor Nwifuru echoed these sentiments, referring to the inauguration as a defining moment for the state. He stressed that this project represents more than just road construction; it signifies progress, connectivity, and national integration.

The highway, starting from Ndibe Beach in Afikpo North, will connect to key regions, promoting economic growth and easing connectivity challenges historically faced by Ebonyi.

Nwifuru praised Minister of Works, Dr. David Umahi, for his leadership and commitment, highlighting the road’s significance for agriculture and trade, particularly given Ebonyi’s landlocked status.

The project promises to enhance access to markets for farmers and traders while also improving safety and accessibility for students traveling across state borders.

He concluded by reiterating the state’s strong support for the project, emphasizing the need to protect and fully realize its potential benefits for local communities and beyond.
