President Bola Tinubu departed Abuja on Monday for a state visit to the Republic of Türkiye, aimed at strengthening bilateral relations and expanding cooperation across key sectors.
A statement issued on Sunday in Abuja by the presidential spokesperson, Mr. Bayo Onanuga, said the visit is designed to deepen diplomatic ties between Nigeria and Türkiye, while exploring new areas of collaboration, particularly in security, education, social development, innovation, and aviation.
Onanuga said the visit will also provide an opportunity for both countries to engage in high-level political and diplomatic discussions on shared interests, including finance, communications, trade, and investment.
Tinubu’s visit follows an official trip to Nigeria by Turkish President Recep Erdoğan, who visited the country from October 19 to 20, 2021, underscoring the growing relationship between both nations.
